Patrick Moorman Central Heating is a small, independent plumbing and heating business on the western edge of Tunbridge Wells. No branches, no franchise, no call centre — the engineers who quote your job are the ones who carry it out.

The clearest picture of this business does not come from the website — it comes from what customers have written about it. Read the Google reviews and the same two names appear over and over: Jim, and his son George. One customer calls it “the most professional, knowledgeable and trust worthy family run business” and mentions having used Jim for many years. Another had a boiler replaced by “Jim and his son”. A third says they would have “both Jim and his son George back any time”.
That is what a genuinely family-run firm looks like from the outside. There is no rota of unfamiliar vans, no handover between a salesperson and an installer, and nobody to be passed to when you ring back. Whoever looked at your pipework is the person holding the spanner and the person on the end of the phone afterwards.
The trade range is broader than most small firms manage. Gas and oil central heating, boiler changes and combi conversions, underfloor heating in older houses as well as new ones, pressurised hot water cylinders, everyday plumbing — and then complete bathrooms, with the tiling carried out in-house rather than handed to a second trade with their own diary.

No registration number is printed here, because a number on a web page proves nothing. The check that works is the one at your front door: ask for the engineer’s Gas Safe ID card, look at the appliance categories on the back and the expiry date, and look the registration up yourself on the Gas Safe Register.
An independent family business
Not part of a chain and not a franchise of anybody. It operates as a family business rather than a registered limited company, which is common for a firm this size — so you will not find a company number here, because there is not one to quote.
Free quotes
Quotes are free, and given after somebody has seen the house. There is deliberately no price list on this site: a boiler change or a bathroom cannot be priced honestly from a web page, and anyone who does it is quoting a number they intend to revise.
A two-year guarantee on the work
The business offers a two-year guarantee on the work it carries out. Manufacturers’ warranties on boilers and cylinders sit on top of that, and are registered for you at commissioning so you do not have to remember to.

The workshop is in Rusthall, a mile or so west of Tunbridge Wells town centre. Most weeks are spent in the Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge area; the business describes itself as happy to travel within roughly fifty miles, which takes in a good part of west Kent and East Sussex.
Tunbridge Wells
Home ground. Rusthall, Southborough, Langton Green, Speldhurst and the town itself — the Victorian and Edwardian stock where the pipework almost never matches the drawings.
West Kent
Tonbridge, Sevenoaks, Cranbrook, Edenbridge and the villages in between, on both gas and oil.
East Sussex
Over the county line towards Crowborough, Wadhurst, Uckfield and Tunbridge Wells' Sussex fringe.
Further out
The business describes itself as happy to travel within about 50 miles of Tunbridge Wells. If you are near the edge of that, ring and ask rather than assuming.
